I've seen lots of posts about a particular brand that got things oh so wrong this Black History Month. So I love to see posts like this one putting the spotlight on brands that have gotten it right.

🌹 What's in a name? Despite the picture, this isn't a LinkedIn post announcing my recent nuptials but rather a conversation starter. Over the past few months conversations surrounding the topic of last name came up quite a few times. Would I take my partner's last name? Add another last name to my already double barrel last name and have a...triple barrel? Would I remove one, add another and still have two? The last name game Math was mathing. Changing my name felt kind of like erasing the nearly decade-long career I've been building. Hear me out - how many press releases, blogs, or quotes have my name on them? While a name change wouldn't wipe all of that out would it water those achievements down or make them harder to link back to me? I'm not entirely sure. What did we land on? Well, we decided I'd keep my last name, at least professionally. In my day to day life I'll still answer to Adriana, AJ, AJL, and yes even Mrs. Doner now. But professionally I'd like to stay Adriana Jones Lima.I'm curious to hear what others think about name changes. Is it a thing of the past? Reserved for one's personal life? Or a tradition that will stand the test of time?

I saw this young man outside of the station today on my quarterly visit. Looking for work requires vulnerability...standing outside one of London's busiest stations with your CV on a huge sign takes guts! Anybody in my network looking for a software engineer or know any tech companies hiring? Connect with Sydney Jupiter today!

🐶 In honour of National Pet Day, I wanted to share some life lessons I’ve learned from our puppy, Bambi:🌱 Every couple of hours you should get up, go outside, stretch your legs and go for a bathroom break (if you’re a human please refrain from doing this part outside).🍬 Don’t forget to have a couple (or lots) of treats when you master a new skill.🗑 Keep your work space tidy or a certain pup may try to eat your post-its.🍂 There is joy to be found in simple things like chasing a crunchy leaf.😴 Sleep is ESSENTIAL for growth.🎾 There is always time for play, running around the garden, and cuddles.

I sit in on a lot of interviews but it isn't often I get to sit in the hot seat myself. I recently chatted with Marketing Week about my experience with remote working. I wasn't always the biggest fan of remote work but the past few years it has been a total game changer for me. Pre-pandemic one of my previous employers only considered PR candidates based in Atlanta. As we shifted to remote work during the pandemic they changed their stance and this opened the door for me to get into PR. Several years later remote working has allowed me to take on greater responsibility at work, support my ageing parents, and even adopt a dog!By the way, ID5.io has several fully remote positions open, so why not check them out > https://id5.io/jobs/

🗞 I went through a PR pitching course several years ago where I learned about different types of pitching. I was warned that byline/op-ed pitches had the lowest success rate for coverage.🏆 So when I helpedID5.iofind a home forMathieu Roche's column this was a huge win for me and our larger team. Big shout out toValbona Gjinifor her support, guidance, and edits throughout this process!👀 Also, while you're reading why not check out the full post? You won't want to miss this closer look at the potential downfalls of Privacy Sandbox, especially if you work in ad tech or Privacy.
